Honeybees get past Lady Rams 8th A
The Mineral Wells Junior High School eighth grade “A” team fell to the Stephenville Honeybees on Thursday.
Leading the Lady Rams in scoring were post Montanna Choate with six points followed by Brittany Barbee with two points, while Madison Gibbs, Kaitlynne Blue, and Cali Pilgrim each scored one point. Leading the Lady Rams on the boards were Madison Gibbs with six rebounds followed by Montana Choate with five, while Cali Pilgrim and Kaylee Gregory each recorded two.
Kaylee Gregory led the Lady Rams with two steals and three blocked shots.
8th C ladies fall to Stephenville
The Lady Rams eighth grade “C” team lost a tough game Thursday against the Stephenville Honeybees.
Leading the Lady Rams on the boards were Savannah Tuggle with six rebounds followed by Kelsey Davis with five, while Esperanza Carbajal finished with three.
Tuggle had three steals to lead the Lady Rams, with Cassidy Parker, Courtney Reed, Jordan Boyd and Kelsey Davis each recording two.
7th grade Lady Rams fall to ‘Bees
On Thursday, the Lady Rams seventh grade girls hosted Stephenville in very intense basketball games.
The “C” team lost in a grueling battle, 35-38. These girls were led in scoring by Brittney Pagan with 15 points, six steals and six rebounds. Not far behind her was Brittany Swindle with 12 points, two steals and four rebounds.
The “B”team lost a rough match to the ‘Bees, 28-8. The scoring was spread out equally for the Lady Rams but the defense was led by Bethany Pophin and Rachel Carter, each with five steals and three rebounds.
The “A” team game was a very exciting, very close game. The Lady Rams played an amazing game but lost by one point to the ‘Bees, 24-23. The Lady Rams led at the half by two points by holding Stephenville to zero points in the second quarter.
Leading the offense for the Lady Rams was Alyssa Ruelas with six points and two rebounds. Leading the defensive battle for the third week was Brei Ruelas and Annakate Rodgers, who combined for 14 rebounds. Both Brei Ruelas and Rodgers each scored four points.
The ‘Bees came back in the third quarter but Lady Rams offensive came alive under pressure and scored 13 points to their 12 with steals by Terra Newsome and Ali Ruelas.
