Four former Mineral Wells Rams football players will participate in two all-star games on Saturday.
All four of the players graduated on Friday and are eligible to play in the respective all-star games, which only allow seniors from the 2012 season.
Three former Rams – Hunter Moss, Jonathan Walker and Jacoby Prestwood – will play Saturday at the North Texas All Star Football Game. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Pennington Field in Bedford.
Walker, who will play next year at Cisco College, was a second team All-District 6-3A guard. Moss was a first-team, all-district defensive end in 2012 and finished the season with 76 tackles and with an interception.
Prestwood, voted District 6-3A’s Offensive Lineman of the Year, is a first-team, all-state, all-academic selection. He will play next year at Tyler College.
Another former Ram, offensive tackle/defensive tackle Wyatt Egan, will play Saturday at the 64th Annual Childress Rotary Greenbelt Bowl Classic in Childress. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. at Fair Park Stadium.
“Both Jonathan and Jacoby are quality linemen and should do well in the game,” Rams head coach Chuck Lawrence said. “I also expect Hunter to have a good showing.
“Wyatt Egan is playing in the Greenbelt Bowl in Childress and he is looking forward to playing again after his injury cost the last six games of the regular season.
“He will do well and have fun.”
