The Mineral Wells Rams have climbed another mountain.
After besting Kennedale for the first time in over a decade on their home field in the last week March, the Rams (16-10, 7-2) swept their season series with the vaunted Wildcats, earning a 6-2 win in front of a home crowd to once again put themselves alone atop the District 6-3A standings with one game left to play.
It's just the latest feather in the cap of a Rams team that has already put together a wildly memorable season. And it's nowhere near finished.
"We've lost to Springtown and Castleberry and we've swept Kennedale," head coach Bret Barrick said, almost in disbelief immediately following the win. "If you'd have told me that at the beginning of the season, I would have called you a liar.
"Our kids play big in big games."
