Lady Rams, Rams sub-varsity hoops teams start 6-3A season undefeated

MINERAL WELLS — By TONY EIERDAM

Pending last night’s games at Springtown (which were completed after deadline), the Mineral Wells Lady Rams and Rams sub-varsity basketball teams have gone undefeated in the early part of District 6-3A play.

The Lady Rams junior varsity is 3-0 after a 78-8 win at Friday at Diamond Hill.

The Lady Rams led 50-0 at halftime of that contest.

The Lady Rams JV has scored 192 points in their first three district contests, a healthy average of 64 points per contest.

Tabi Santibanez (39 points), Kaleigh Aaron (34 points) and Bre Hinojos (21 points) lead the Lady Rams in scoring through the first three district

games.

The Lady Rams freshman team is 2-0, having played one less game than the JV because Diamond Hill does not field a freshman team.

The Lady Rams frosh – which in a scheduling mix up played and beat Castleberry’s JV – have a new coach in former Lady Ram Erica Roberson.

The Rams’ junior varsity and freshman teams are 1-0 after each squad won Friday at Diamond Hill.

Coy Barrick scored 17 points to lead the Rams JV, with Marvin Johnson pacing the MWHS freshman boys team against Diamond Hill with 22 points.

Check www.mineralwellsindex.com for Tuesday night’s results.

All MWHS sub-varsity basketball teams will host Kennedale on Friday at the MWHS gyms.
