GRAFORD – State-ranked No. 4 Graford exploded for 62 first-half points en route to a 91-40 victory over Bryson here Tuesday night in a District 11-A contest.
Petr Vopinka led the ‘Rabbits with 16 points, followed by Paul Packheiser with 15, Quinten Tabor with 14; and Lucas Simmons and Dylan Hart, each with 10.
“We wanted to get out to a quick start,” Graford head coach Ty Tabor said, “and the boys did a good job of executing the game plan.”
Graford (18-2, 4-0) led 29-11 after the first quarter and scored 33 points in the second period to take a 62-15 lead at the half.
Last week the Jackrabbits defeated the No. 6 Throckmorton Greyhounds at Throckmorton, 58-52, on Jan. 14 and on Friday defeated Woodson at home, 85-21.
Lady Hounds down Lady Longhorns
GORDON – Jayde Price scored 25 points to lead the Strawn Lady Hounds to a convincing 54-24 win over the Gordon Lady Longhorns here Tuesday night in a District 17-A game.
Also scoring for Strawn (17-8, 4-1) were Jacqueline Berumen with 10 points, Kallie Hodgkins with seven, Shelly Abbott with six, and Eva de Gregorio and Tearany Atkins, each with three.
The Lady Hounds led 11-8 after the opening period and went on a 15-4 run in the second quarter to take a 26-12 lead at the half.
The Lady Hounds put the game away with a 10-2 run in the third period to take a 36-14 lead into the fourth quarter.
