Aledo swept both the Mineral Wells Lady Rams and Rams soccer teams Saturday afternoon in District 12-4A soccer action.
Aledo scored four goals in the first half on its way to a 6-0 win over the Lady Rams.
The loss evens the Lady Rams’ district mark at 2-2.
“We had one of those games you would rather move on from quickly,” Lady Rams head coach John Tuggle said. “I am hoping that from this game, we will fight harder on the field to not allow this to happen again.”
The Rams fell 4-0 to the Bearcats. Rams head coach Rolando Borjon liked what he saw defensively from his young squad.
“The kids hung in there but couldn’t get anything going offensively,” he said. “Our defense stayed on their toes and worked hard.
“Kelly Williams was on goal the first half and Zach Elder finished the second half. Zach played a good half and made some good saves.
“Zach Gray had sparks of some offense but was not enough to get in the net.
“We have made some position changes and that comes with a rebuilding year, trying to find the right picture.
“The kids are keeping their head up and taking each game as a learning experience.”
