Although it was still dark when the Mineral Wells Rams took the field at 6 a.m. Monday morning in their first practice of the 2012 season, the overall attitude was bright and sunny as the squad went through a spirited workout.
The Rams completed the first of four practice days in shorts and helmets only with position meetings and a special teams “walk through” workout.
Under new UIL guidelines, high school football teams can practice once a day in shorts and helmets only in the first four days of workouts before the first allowed day of contact on Aug. 10. The Rams will conclude this week’s workouts with an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday morning.
