The Mineral Wells Junior High School eighth grade Lady Rams “A” team played very well and blocked extremely well last night against the Stephenville Honeybees.
Despite playing very well the Lady Rams lost to Stephenville in a close hard fought district matchup.
Leading the Lady Rams in blocks were middle blocker Kaylee Gregory with four stops followed by setter Sunni Lemley with three blocks and Madison Gibbs with two.
Leading the lady Rams in good passes were Sunni Lemley with 39 passes, while Madison Gibbs and Kaylee Gregory each recorded 22 passes to target.
Lady Rams also hit very well last night with Madison Gibbs leading the way with three kills followed by Taylor Levan with two hits, while Kaylee Gregory and Cali Pilgrim each registered one hit.
Digging well for the Lady Rams on the back row were Beatriz Martinez, Daniela Vera and Pond Blackmer.
‘Bees outlast B-team ladies
The eighth grade “B” team played a tough match against the always strong Stephenville Bees Thursday evening.
The Lady Rams struggled in the first game losing, 25-8.
However, the Lady Rams battled back from a 10-point deficit to tie game two at 24-24. In the end the ‘Bees managed a couple of very good serves and won 26-24.
Outstanding players for the night were Angel Beavers with 11 passes and nine points on serve, Montana Choate with nine passes, Destiny Bell with had five spikes, and Sammy Salinas and Cassidy Parker each with four passes and five service points.
