Lady Rams even District 6-3A mark with win

LAKE WORTH – Last Friday, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams seemed to have elevated their overall game when they played point-for-point and stood toe-to-toe with state-ranked No. 7 Springtown.

Although the Lady Rams lost to Springtown in four games, the three losses were by a combined 13 points, meaning each contest could have gone either way.

Lady Rams head coach Taylor Eggleston, despite the loss on Friday, was proud of her team and felt it had raised its level of play and would carry that level to their next match and throughout district play and the playoffs.

Tuesday night at Lake Worth, despite a 25-23, 26-24, 25-15 sweep in a District 6-3A match, the Lady Rams appeared to have taken a step back.

MWHS seemed to lack the same intensity of its opponent, but also nothing can be taken away from a Lake Worth squad that played surprisingly solid defense and challenged the taller MWHS hitters at the net.
