Last season when the Mineral Wells Rams met Burkburnett, the Bulldogs heaved a high, arcing pass toward the end zone on the last play of the game in hopes of a catch and a victory.
In football speak, it is referred as a “Hail Mary” pass, and the results of the desperation flings often go to the defense.
However, a Bulldogs’ receiver caught the pass amongst a scrum of players in the end zone as Burkburnett won the game, 41-35.
The Rams and Bulldogs will tee it up at 7:30 p.m. today on Homecoming Night at Ram Stadium in MWHS’ final non-district game of the year.
