Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine hit the newsstands and stores last Friday, and the publication gave high honors to a pair of area six-man teams.
Texas Football predicts that both the Strawn Greyhounds and Gordon Longhorns will win their respective districts, but the magazine has also put both in Top 10 polls.
Strawn was ranked No. 3 in the Six Man Division II Top 10 poll, and the publication has Gordon ranked No. 6 in the state in its Six Man Division I poll.
The two Palo Pinto County schools were the highest ranked concerning schools covered by the Index.
The magazine predicts the Mineral wells Rams will finish in fourth place in District 6-3A. TF picks Kennedale to repeat as district champions, with Springtown second and Lake Worth third.
Beginning this season, the top four teams in district play in all team sports in Class 3A qualify for the state playoffs.
Concerning area Class A schools, TF predicts Santo to place fifth in strong District 5-A Division I (No. 10 Goldthwaite is predicted to win the district), with Perrin finishing fourth in a district that includes No. 4 Munday (predicted as district winner), No. 7 Muenster and Electra.
In Class 2A, TF predicts Millsap will finish eighth in District 6-2A Division II with No. 10 Mildred as district champion.
TF did not have a favorable ranking for Community Christian School as the magazine places the Warriors fourth in TCAF Six Man District 3.
TF predicts Azle Christian will win that district, with Willow Park Trinity Christian Academy second and El Paso Immanuel Baptist fourth.
