CCS teams fare well in scrimmages

— The Community Christian School Warriors had their first scrimmage against TAPPS school Lakehill Christian and it turned out to be a showcase of the offensive power of CCS.  

The CCS first string out scored the Lakehill first string nine scores to four scores.

Quarterback Landon Payne threw for four touchdowns, showing the Warriors’ ability to throw the ball, while Isaiah Brazeal ran for nearly 200 yards and Joby Bradshaw ran for another 65 yards.

The Warriors first-team offense piled up 347 yards in 28 plays.

The Warriors will travel to Bluffdale Saturday to scrimmage Stephenville Faith.

In volleyball on Friday, the Lady Warriors scrimmaged Johnson County and Fellowship Academy.  

The triangular scrimmage ended in a split for the Lady Warriors.  Johnson County fell 2-0 while CCS lost to Fellowship 2-1.

The Lady Warriors start their 2013 season today at Dallas Academy with the first serve at 1 p.m.
