SANTO – State-ranked No. 5 Santo jumped out to a 24-2 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as the Ladycats ran past Gorman, 65-21, here Tuesday night.Payton Billue scored 17 points to lead Santo (18-2), with Sarah Van Remmen adding 11.
Also scoring for the Ladycats were Courtney Flanagan and Taylor Nemeth, each with eight points, Breeana Raffaele with six, Megan MacPherson and Chloe McGlaun, each with five, Alyssa McKennon with four and Kristy Trammell with one.
Santo built a 38-5 lead at the half and led 52-13 as the contest moved to the fourth quarter.
Wildcats come back for 51-43 victory
SANTO – Santo used a 21-6 run in the second quarter to come back and defeat Gorman, 51-43, here Tuesday night.
The win raises the Wildcats’ record to 15-3.
Cooper Barling scored 16 points to lead the ‘Cats, with Christopher Hoover adding 11.
Also scoring for Santo were Keith Chalker with eight points, Tim Long with six, Parker Conaway with five, Shane Scott with three and Jordan Edwards with two.
Gorman led 18-10 after the opening period, but Santo’s second-quarter run gave the ‘Cats a 31-24 lead at the half.
Each team scored eight points in the third period as Santo took a 39-32 lead into the fourth quarter.
Price records triple double in Strawn win
RANGER – Strawn post Jayde Price scored 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded 10 assists for a triple double as the state-ranked No. 10 Lady Hounds blew out Ranger, 70-39, here Tuesday night.
Jacqueline Berumen led Strawn (14-5) with 25 points, while Shelly Abbott pulled a double double with 13 points and 10 assists.
Also scoring for the Lady Hounds were Cori Pollock with nine points, Tearany Atkins with four and Cidney Pollock with two.
Strawn led 23-4 after the opening period and built a 39-16 lead at the break.
The Lady Hounds outscored Ranger 17-7 in the third period to take a 56-23 lead into the fourth quarter.
