Ladycats so close...
AUSTIN – They had made it to the dance.
For the first time in 57 years, the Santo Ladycats (24-9) had reached the Class 1A Division 1 state semifinals and, in doing so, helped ninth-year head coach Tony Raffaele and his daughters – Breeana and Reagan – achieve a lifelong dream.
Mineral Wells baseball, softball have sour road trips
Both the Mineral Wells Rams baseball team and Lady Rams softball took road trips Tuesday evening that did not quite go as planned. The Rams were dealt an 8-2 loss by the Eastland Mavericks, while the Lady Rams game was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Mineral Wells boys place third, girls seventh at Charlie Stewart Invitational
EVERMAN – The Mineral Wells boys and girls varsity track and field teams were in action, Saturday, at the Charlie Stewart Invitational at Everman High School.
Graford outmuscles Trent, 57-29, heads to regional semifinals
CLYDE – The Graford Jackrabbits (25-3) continued their destruction tour through the Class 1A Division 2 playoffs with a dominant 57-29 win over the Trent Gorillas in their regional quarterfinal game, Tuesday night, in Clyde.
The Mineral Wells Rams and Lady Rams soccer teams hosted district rival Springtown with great results on a cold, windy Tuesday night in Ram Stadium.
Millsap's playoff run ends vs. Ponder, 65-43
ALEDO – After powering through the first two rounds of the postseason with wins by five and two points, the Millsap Bulldogs' thrilling run through the Region II-2A playoffs came to an abrupt end Monday night.

ABILENE – As the buzzer sounded at Abilene Christian University's Moody Coliseum after the Santo Ladycats defeated the Windthorst Trojanettes, 53-47 in the girls' Class A, Region II, Division I final, Santo senior guard Breeana Raffale ran the length of the court and jumped joyfully into her father's arms.
Ragland, Pappas, Holman receive top All 6-3A awards
Mineral Wells sophomores Natalie Ragland and Madie Pappas received top honors on the All-District 6-3A team and head coach Lelsie Holman was named "Coach of the Year" in a vote of league coaches.
Lady Rams made progress throughout ‘13-’14 hoops season
Playing for their third head coach in three years, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams basketball team went through a non-district season learning their new coach and finished District 6-3A play with a 6-4 record, a third-place finish and a playoff appearance.

The Santo Ladycats are going to the girls' state basketball tournament in Austin.
