Area baseball: Santo and Gordon nab big district wins
Both the Santo Wildcats (7-6, 6-3) and Gordon Longhorns (2-9, 2-7) pulled off wins in District 10-1A play by wide margins, Tuesday, to improve their district standing as the playoffs inch ever closer.

Rams climb on
You can't keep a good team down for long and, as they have indicated this season, the Mineral Wells Rams (14-9, 5-1) are certainly a good team. Four days after a 4-0 loss to Castleberry, during which the Rams mustered only four hits, Mineral Wells came out with a vengeance against the Lake Worth Bullfrogs (2-18, 1-5), riding 10 hits to an 11-0 victory in four-and-a-half innings, Tuesday night, at Pratt Field.
Lady Rams trounce Lake Worth, 15-0, in three innings on Keeton's almost perfect night
In a game that was just short of perfect on multiple levels, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams (22-6, 6-1) dismantled the Lake Worth Lady Frogs, 15-0, in just three innings, Tuesday night at Kessler Field.
FORT WORTH – Just call Mineral Wells "Titletown" for golf. After a nail-biting second round of the District 6-3A Tournament at Glen Garden Country Club in Fort Worth, the Mineral Wells boys and girls golf teams downed Kennedale, Springtown and Castleberry to capture the 2014 district championship, while Scarlett Eaton and Reece Tarver won the individual district championships.

In area baseball and softball action Friday, the Santo Wildacts, Ladycats and Gordon Longhorns all fell at the hands of district opponents.
Ladycats golf headed to regionals after finishing second at district
With a second-place finish in the District 15-1A Tournament in the books, the Santo Ladycats golf team has qualified for the Regional Tournament, which will be held at Shady Oaks Golf Course in Baird, April 14-15.

FORT WORTH – One week removed from their first loss in District 6-3A this season, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams (21-6, 5-1) took out some frustration on the Castleberry Lady Lions, crushing two home runs and playing some small ball en route to a 12-2 victory at Castleberry's Camp Carter Baseball and Softball Complex, Friday night.
Rams fall to Castleberry, 4-0, tied for first in district
FORT WORTH – After a historic victory over the Kennedale Wildcats, the Mineral Wells Rams (13-9, 4-1) were flying high and sitting all alone atop the District 6-3A standings. But a trip to Fort Worth quickly brought the Rams back to earth as they lost to the Castleberry Lions, 4-0, at Castleberry's Camp Carter Baseball and Softball Complex, Friday night.
