As last week was filled with excitement in Mineral Wells with the rodeo, Millsap got a taste of the event when the trail riders traveled through and stopped at Walden Farm and Ranch Supply to water horses and eat a barbecue lunch, prepared by the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse. Some riders trailer their horses here and end their ride for the day, while others saddle up full of energy and continue on to Mineral Wells for the parade and start of the rodeo. We always look forward to seeing all of the riders come “hooping and hollering” into our community!
The Millsap Ladies Home and Garden Club enjoyed their yearly out-and-about day earlier this month with a trip to the Civil War Museum in Fort Worth. Some of the women especially enjoyed learning some little known facts about the war and the soldiers’ way of life. After the museum tour the group went to Ginger Brown’s Restaurant for lunch and found it a wonderful experience. After the meal some went home, others toured Lake Weatherford, and some stayed in town to do a little shopping. Glad the ladies had a good time.
Remember the Millsap Masonic Lodge Fish Fry and Bake Sale at Millsap Log Cabins on May 24. The event will be 4 p.m. till all of the fish is gone for $10 a plate. Proceeds benefit local high school scholarships.
Have a great week and thank you for reading!
