When 2014 gets here it will be time to start making preparations for income tax. On that front the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program, which helps people with their tax returns free of charge, is in need of volunteers in this area. There will be five locations staffed from Feb. 1-April 15: the Weatherford Library, the Mineral Wells Boyce Ditto Library, the Mineral Wells Senior Center, the Azle Library and the Azle Senior Center. People do not have to be AARP members to volunteer and, there are many volunteer opportunities.
The tax volunteers will receive free tax training in December and January. Other volunteer positions include Client Facilitators, Technology Coordinators, and Leadership and Administrative Personnel. There is a volunteer application form available at http://www.aarp.org/applications/Volunteer, or for any questions call District Coordinator Linda Whitehouse at 817-360-6681. People are going to need this help, so please consider volunteering.
Congratulations to Wayne and Joann Armstrong for having their home chosen by Millsap City Council and the Millsap Neighborhood Ladies Home and Garden Club as the Recognized Yard for November. This couple has always maintained a well-groomed yard and a very pretty house.
May you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving.
"O Give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever." Psalm 107:1
