Goings on Down Millsap Way

Many students, school employees, and community members enjoyed performances by Brock graduate Colin Cooper and Brock Junior Bailey Cockburn. The event was a great success for a worthy cause.

The Millsap Neighborhood Ladies Home and Garden Club's Lamplight Spaghetti Dinner, which was held on the evening of Feb. 8, had a crowd of over 200 people to enjoy the delicious meal. The community center was transformed into a lovely old-fashion restaurant all aglow with a variety of lanterns. There was a wonderful array of desserts to choose from at the Sweet Shoppe, and it almost sold out. Highlight items of the Raffle included a Kathleen Whiteway original handcrafted necklace and canvas print of an oil painting by Linda Whitehouse. The women are thankful to all who came and for the great support of the project. Everyone went away full and having had a great time!

Free help filing Income Tax is available by trained volunteers through the AARP Tax-Aide Program at area locations. Locations and phone numbers for appointments are: Weatherford Library 817-598-4150, Mineral Wells Boyce Ditto Library 940-328-7880, Mineral Wells Senior Center 940-325-6470, Azle Library 817-444-7216, and Azle Senior Center 817-444-0070. The Weatherford Library location is very popular, so people should probably call for an appointment. If you go to any of these sites without an appointment be prepared to wait until a counselor is free. Also, call for days and times that counselors are on site. This is a great opportunity for free help and these qualified volunteers are waiting to assist through April 15.

Early voting for the March 4 Primary will take place February 18-28. For Millsap folks the closest place to vote early is the Old Brock ISD Administration Building.  Robert Parten is the Early Voting Clerk, and if voters need ballots by mail or have questions call -817-598-6185.

Feb. 17 is Presidents Day.
