MILLSAP – As a new school year is upon us, the results of Millsap’s first Back-to-School Fair were awesome! This event quickly turned into a community effort with great effects.
Held Aug. 18 at City Hall, and highly supported by the city council, there were many volunteers from the city council and their families, the schools and the community at large. Spearheaded by Stella Casey and Linda Schultz the whole fair was very well organized and well attended with 55-plus students receiving a myriad of supplies and services that will make their return to school easier.
There were many organizations and officials involved including the Millsap VFD, Parker County Sheriffs Office Identi-kid and a nurse giving immunizations. There were vouchers available for free haircuts and new school shoes with plenty of supplies available for all grades. Volunteers were highly enthusiastic and very thankful that the fair was a supportive avenue for area students and their families.
