Here is a heart-warming story about a kindergartener in Millsap. This sweet little character wanted to give his money from the tooth fairy to Mrs. Beavers (our third-grade teacher receiving breast cancer treatment). There was a very successful fundraising effort for her. He probably heard about it. Shout out to such unselfish innocence.
NEWS FROM THE SCHOOLS: Elementary school students are doing their part to support Parker County’s Relay for Life by hosting Recess Relays on March 31st. The winning class wins a pizza party. Donate to your favorite kids!
The middle school will have a dance from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 31st.
All the students are winners, but here are a few from high school. Mrs. Ledgewood and four art students will be attending an awards reception at the Doss Heritage Museum honoring their accomplishments during the 2017 Parker County Student Art Show. The student art will be on display through March. Check it out! UIL students also placed in computer science and ready writing. One Act Play received an honorable mention. These are only a few. Our students show excellence in so many areas and make this community outstanding!
The Ex-students Reunion is April 22nd at 10 a.m.
GRASS FIRES: The grass fires of a suspicious nature are continuing in our area. At first, it was Bennett Road, but now fires are popping up in other places. A small silver car may be involved. Let’s work together to stop this destructive nuisance!
OLD CARS: There will be about 60 cars traveling the Bankhead Highway route and making a quick stop in Millsap before continuing on. The date may be April 29th but that is not confirmed.
EASTER IS APRIL 16th: First Baptist Church of Millsap will sponsor an egg hunt open to the children of the community. Details later!
April 8th is an egg hunt event sponsored by the Weatherford downtown merchants. It seems there will be eggs to find in various participating shops. Then, egg hunts by age groups will be scheduled as well. Sounds like fun!
BREAKFAST WITH FRIENDS: Join the ladies of the Millsap Garden Club each Wednesday at 9 a.m. for breakfast at Fuller Station. This is a fun time to visit and enjoy the company of a bunch of wonderful ladies. The first Wednesday of each month is the only Wednesday you won’t find a smiling group of friends as they meet for their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. at the Millsap Community Center.
Have a week full of surprises y’all!
THOUGHT: A true friend sees the first tear, catches the second and stops the third.
