Mineral Wells Wednesday Bible Study Club met in the home of Bata Boyd on Dec. 13. Bata Boyd was hostess for the day and Mary Creighton was program for the day.
Since this was our meeting before Christmas, members brought gifts for the angel tree. Nikki Murphy presided over the meeting in the absence of Lynn Waddy due to illness.
Bata Boyd served the members delicious sandwiches, chocolate strawberries and dessert before the program. The house was decorated with lots of Christmas poinsettias and special items for the season.
Mary Creighton chose to share a children’s Christmas story that was written by Max Lucado and his three daughters some years back. The story was to be an inspiration for those who might feel different or alone by showing that they may have a special mission in life just as this lamb who was able to keep baby Jesus warm on the night of his birth. Mary ended with a prayer of thanks to our Heavenly Father for the promise of hope.
Mineral Wells Wednesday Bible Study Club has been an active club since 1935. Although the members may change, the essence of the club is still alive. The club studies a chapter each meeting and goes through the Bible in this manner by hearing and discussing the designated chapter.
To begin 2018, the group will meet Jan. 10 to discuss I Corinthians, 16.
