She served six years on the Pythian Retirement Home Board in Greenville, Texas, and six years on the Board for the Texas Pythian Home for Children in Weatherford. Donations may be given in her memory to either of these worthy organizations. She was a driver for the American Cancer Society, taking people for radiation and chemotherapy. She also served as secretary for two years. She battled breast cancer herself in 1998 and beat it.
She was a charter member of the Mineral Wells Woman’s Club, serving as secretary for two years and conducting several audits for them. She was an active member of the Zonta Club, serving as reporter 1976-78, treasurer in 1979-80 and president in 1981-82. She was a member of the First Christian Church, serving as a diaconate for them in 2003.
