Thaylus Ray Blevins, 73, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend to many, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, of pneumonia.
Service: Please join us in celebrating Ray’s life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, in Mineral Wells, at Indian Creek Baptist Church.
Ray was born in San Saba, Texas on Jan. 1, 1941, son of the late Bill and Lee Gartman. He graduated from Midland High School, class of ’58 and entered the Marine Corp.
He married Brenda Townsend in 1966 and settled in Mineral Wells. Ray enjoyed fishing, working outside, cheering for the Rangers, and spending time with his family.
Ray is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Blevins; and four children: Terri Blevins, of Mineral Wells, Tracy Blevins, of Keller, TX; Kim Conlee, of Stephenville, TX; Kevin Blevins, of Mineral Wells and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Marie Leddy, of May Pearle, TX; Cindy Bagott, of Grand Prairie, TX; and Betty Sue Scott, of Brazos, TX.
