Patty Weaver Priest

Patty Weaver Priest, 61, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

Patty was born June 5, 1952, in Mineral Wells to A.F. and Patsy Weaver.

Patty was a Mineral Wells High School graduate of the Class of 1970. It was in her high school years she met the love of her life, James Priest. They were married Oct. 9, 1971, and had never spent a day apart. They lived several years in Michigan while James completed his service in the U.S. Coast Guard and then returned to make their home in Mineral Wells.

Patty was a devoted grandmother and dedicated much of her time to caring for her grandchildren and other young children out of her home. She could always be found outside in her garden, behind the camera, or in front of the TV, cheering on her beloved Jeff Gordon.

She is survived by her husband, James Priest, of Mineral Wells; daughter, Kristina Cohen, and husband, Justin, of Wolframs-Eschenbach, Germany; daughter, Jessica Samples and husband, Duke, of Mineral Wells; grandchildren: Madeline, Claire and Ethan Cohen of Wolframs-Eschenbach, Germany, and Zachary, Emma, and Caleb Samples  of Mineral Wells; mother, Patsy Weaver, of Mineral Wells; brother, Tim Weaver, and wife, Malynn, of Mineral Wells; brother, Larry Weaver, and wife, Linda, of Arlington; and sister, Amy Benoit, and husband, John, of Houma, La.

She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur F. Weaver, of Mineral Wells; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Young, and Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Weaver Sr., all of Mineral Wells.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells. In lieu of flowers our family would like for donations to be made to The Kindred Foundation c/o Kindred Healthcare, 680 South Fourth Street, Louisville, Ky. 40202.
