Alfonso “Poncho” Hermosillo, 69, owner of Poncho’s Flower Villa in Fort Worth, entered rest June 6, 2013. Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. today at Ridglea Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. Burial: Private Poncho Hermosillo was born Aug. 13, 1943, to Juan and Lucia (Mendez) Hermosillo. His career in floral design began in 1961 at Cox’s florists in Mineral Wells. He opened Ponchos Flower Villa of Fort Worth in 1997.
A member of the Chula Chaser Motorcycle Club of Fort Worth, Poncho also coached Pee Wee and Pony League baseball, and was a proud member of the Fort Worth Jaycees.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Manuel Hermosillo.
Survivors: his wife, Michele Sims Hermosillo; daughters, Lori Hermosillo and Raechele Hammond; sisters, Clara Cartwright, Martha Ruiz and Tammy Fielder-Valboa; grandchildren, Gavin Hermosillo and Kaitlyn Roche; several generations of loving family members and friends.
