Sally Gale Pruitt, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2014.
A memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Wells.
Sally was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Deadwood, S.D. She married Joyce (JN) Pruitt on Jan. 30, 1954, in Duluth, Minn. They made Mineral Wells their home in 1954.
Sally spent countless hours volunteering with different organizations while still raising her family of five children. Some of the organizations included were the Boyce Ditto Public Library and the Book Mobile for Palo Pinto County. Sally held multiple offices with the Military Order of the Cooties. She tended bar at the VFW and held state offices with their ladies auxiliary. Sally was a volunteer at the Palo Pinto General Hospital emergency room, having served 23,000 hours until no longer able in November 2013.
Sally was a devoted servant of the Lord, having been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Wells for about 60 years, and was a founding member of the church's handbell choir.
Sally is survived by her brother, Bob Pike and wife Herta, of Bloomington, Minn.; sister, Mary Pike, of Arlington, Va.; brother-in-law, Doyle Pruitt and wife Charlene, of Mineral Wells; daughter, Gale Hunsucker and husband David Ferrell, of Haltom City; sons, Mike and wife Karen, of Mineral Wells, Donald and wife Lori, of Arlington, and Jerry and wife Tammie, of Corinth; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Galen and Lina Pike; her brother, Dr. Myron Pike and wife Jeris; her husband, JN; and her son, Pete Pruitt.
The family requests donations be made to her church family at the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Wells.
