MUSKOGEE, Okla. – James Edward Mainard, of Muskogee, Okla., passed away at his home on Friday, May 16, 2014, with his wife at his side. He was 56 years of age.
He was born April 23, 1958, in Exeter, Calif. Jim attended schools in Wagoner, Okla., and graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1976. Jim served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. Jim married his best friend and fishing partner, Brenda Lewis, on July 2, 1982, in Mineral Wells. They celebrated more than 31 years of marriage.
Jim was a police officer in Mineral Wells for more than seven years before moving back to Wagoner. He had worked for Georgia Pacific for the past 18 years.
Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda, of their home; two sons, Rodney Glover and wife, Kelly, of Wilmer, Texas, and J.T. Mainard and wife, Jenny, of Texas; three grandchildren; his mother, Gladys Mainard, of Mineral Wells; two sisters, Lauren (Natasha Cristo) Mainard, of Sherman, Texas, and Debra Loyd, of Mineral Wells; one brother, Tommy Mainard and wife, Charlene, of Wagoner, Okla.; two brothers-in-law, Davis Lewis and wife, Buffy, of Fortune Bend, Texas, and Robby Fowler of Mineral Wells; four sisters-in-law, Rhonda Cowley and husband, Ronald, Sandie Gann and husband, Roy, Dondra Fowler and Tambra Lewis, all of Mineral Wells; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dude Mainard; sister, Shelly Leann Mainard; his mother-in-law, Joyce Dahl; his father-in-law, A.D. Lewis; and brother-in-law, Marvin Loyd.
