Mitchell Charles Ray Jr.

Mitchell Charles Ray Jr., 54, died Aug. 21, 2012.

Memorial service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.

On Feb. 14, 1958, in Mineral Wells, the Lord blessed Mitchell Ray Sr. and Vida Ray with a handsome baby boy they named Mitchell Charles Ray Jr. Mitchell began his early education at Dunbar School and then went on to attend and graduate from Mineral Wells High School. He went on to continue his education at Angelo State University where he was an active member of the NAIA national champion football and track teams.

Mitchell was a very fun and loving person. When Mitchell met new people they never felt like a stranger due to his outgoing personality, which was very captivating. He always kept a big smile on his face, which was certain to brighten anyone’s day. There was never a dull moment around Mitchell; he would bust out a joke at the drop of a heartbeat, and usually started with “That joker”! Mitchell has touched many people’s lives and hearts during his time with us. His smile, love, and generosity will always be remembered.

The gates of Heaven have opened and called another angel home. The bells rang out and called Mitchell to rest in eternal peace for evermore.

Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Vida Ray; his wife, Lisa Jones-Ray (North Richland Hills, Texas); his son, Madison C. Ray (North Richland Hills); brother, Melvin Ray; sisters, Cassandra, and Theresa Ray (Daly City, Calif.); his uncles, Charles Cavitt (San Francisco), Robert “Bob” Porter (Grass Lake, Mich.) and Larry Taborn (New York); two special friends, Mary Jo Aguilera (Bedford, Texas) and Carter Igou (Hurst, Texas); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mitchell joins his Father in eternal peace, Mitchell Ray Sr.
