Barbara Belding Gibson, of Palo Pinto County, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, on her ranch at Possum Kingdom Lake.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, at the First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells, 100 SW 4th Ave., Mineral Wells. Interment will follow at the Palo Pinto Cemetery in Palo Pinto. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto, PO Box 249, Palo Pinto, TX 76484.
Barbara was born on Nov. 2, 1937, in Dallas, to the late Frank and Madge Luper Belding. She married Cyrus Gibson on Sept. 13, 1958, in Rantoul, Ill., and together they raised two children.
She graduated from Texas Women's University in Denton and was an Elementary School Teacher and the owner, operator of the Gibson/Belding Ranch. Barbara was a longtime member, pianist, and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Cyrus Gibson, of Palo Pinto County; son, Shawn Gibson and wife Peggy, of Palo Pinto County; daughter, Charlotte Reyna, of Palo Pinto; grandchildren: Hilary Ince, Taylor McCaig, Randy Reid, Rose Reyna, Kaitlyn Reyna, Israel Reyna, Chelsea Reyna; and a great-grandchild, Daniel Jackson Reid.
