Marie “Penny” Sitton, 90, passed away peacefully from this life April 30, 2013, in a Waco nursing home. She was born June 19, 1922, in Tullos, La., the daughter of Henry and Ruth Spears Pendarvis. She married Charlie Leeman Sitton on June 24, 1945, in Fort Worth. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells. She was a Christian. She and her husband owned and operated Sitton Watch Hospital for many years in California and Mineral Wells. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Jim Minton officiating. Burial will follow in Perrin Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her brother: Billy Joe Pendarvis; sister: Myrtle Mellichamp; sister-in-law: Angie Sitton of Perrin; nieces: Jacquie Karen Johnson and husband, Eddie, of Valley Mills, Vicki Sitton of Mineral Wells; nephews: Joe Sitton and wife, Janice, of Perrin, Ronnie Sitton of Oran; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Feb. 27, 1997; sister: Mae Belle Schmidt; sons: Chuck and Glen Sitton; brothers-in-law: L.B. Sitton, and Cecil Sitton; and sister-in-law: Verna Sitton.
