John F. Ashby, 73, passed away May 17, 2014, in a Granbury care facility.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Friday, May 23,at Indian Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.
John was born in Carrizozo, N.M., on April 7, 1941, the son of Robert and Linnie (Waldrop) Ashby. John served his country with pride in the U.S. Army and worked in the manufacturing industry most of his life. He never met a person that he could not start a conversation with. He was a true people person and fully enjoyed conversing with friends.
John leaves behind daughters Lennie Taylor, May Royer, Alana Gayle Ashby and Michele Ashby; brothers, Carl and Robert Ashby; sisters, Ada Randall, Shirley Hopper, Marlene Payne and Betty Pruett; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
John was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Linnie Ashby; and sons, John Edward and Scotty Ashby.
