— Elton Gene Robinson went to be with his Lord Nov. 22, 2013. Gene was born in Oran, Texas, Dec. 14, 1946, and lived and went to school around Mineral Wells until he joined the Navy in 1965. Gene served his country in the US Navy until 1978 then went to work for Southwestern Bell in Dallas where he worked until his retirement in 2001.

Gene lived with his wife, Debbie, on their ranch in Hamilton. He was an avid hunter who loved the great outdoors as much as he loved people.

Gene had a gift of never meeting a stranger and all were drawn to the big man with the infectious grin and good sense of humor. He was the rock and support to his daughter, Nicole, during her recent cancer battle and death of her husband.

Gene was a Baptist and a member of Rock House Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James David Robinson and Oleta Knowles Robinson; two sisters: Wanda Pond and Edna Kluttz. Survivors include wife, Debbie, of Hamilton; two daughters: Nicole Hancock and Danielle Skinner of Larue, Texas; two granddaughters: Lindsay Kelly and Carlye Hancock; one grandson, Mason Baker Skinner; and one great-granddaughter, Braelynn Kelly; three brothers: John Robinson of Benbrook, Carlton and Ronnie Robinson of Mineral Wells; three sisters: Juanita Chambless and Donna White of Mineral Wells and Linda Canada of Ranger; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Gene donated his body to Southwest Medical School of Research to help find a cure for the many diseases we struggle with today. A memorial in his honor will be held at a future date for all of his family and friends. Gene will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
