Theata Lois Malicoat, 89, of Mineral Wells passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at a local care center. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Chapel. No formal visitation is planned. Burial will be at Woodland Park Cemetery.
Theata was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Sterling, Okla., to John and Lurena Lunsford Malicoat. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was very active with the Mineral Wells Senior Center.
During World War II she worked in a war factory. She worked as a lab technician at American Optical, where she made eyeglasses. Sewing was her passion.
Theata is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, six brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by nine nephews and seven nieces.
