Letters to the Editor

Sending out a wish

Dear Editor,

To the specimen of whale dung who stole my grandson’s fishing rod at Mineral Wells Lake State Park on Saturday, Aug. 9, around noon: Assuming that you are literate, I hope you read this!

I sincerely hope that you use it to catch the biggest catfish in the lake, he pulls you in the lake and drags you to the deepest part in the middle, turns you loose and you have to swim for at least an hour to get back where you are arrested for theft and your mother watches the whole thing as she paces to and fro while frantically barking!

Good fishing!

Richard Taylor, Mineral Wells

Prints in stone

Dear Editor,

Your dinosaur and foot rock made me think of my rock with a child’s footprint and a faint handprint of a woman, like she was bent down getting a drink of water. I found that rock about 20 years ago. I started working long hours and I never went back to see if I could find more prints.

But in regards to man and beast prints I do have a few ideas on that subject.

They were saying that the human track was the same depth or deeper than the dinosaur and there was some staining in the foot areas and “squooshing” up between the toes. I guess there would be “squoosing” down of the toes because here is this great big beast, lizard of a dinosaur leaning his weight on this guy’s or girl’s foot, looking at him like he was a wiener on a stick.

That’s my thought about it.

James Johnson, Mineral Wells
