Letters to the Editor

CITGO no longer a go at some local stations
Dear Editor,

Good news for veterans and loyal Americans who will not buy CITGO gas, The station at the corner of U.S. Highway 281 South and Municipal Highway 379 is now Texaco, so we can start using their services now. Also, around the country, all 7-Elevens are going to Fina instead of CITGO. Hopefully we can soon get rid of that Venezuelan American hater that owns CITGO. Thank you merchants.

Rounding up remaining rodeo sponsors
Dear Editor,

The Palo Pinto County Livestock Association would like to thank the following sponsors whose names were inadvertently omitted from the listing of sponsors in the pro rodeo program: Waddy Pharmacy, Elliott & Waldron Abstract Co., Community Christian School, Garner Equine, Hooks’ Lincoln-Mercury (Weatherford), Mobil Phones of Texas and Millsap Veterinary Clinic.

Thanks to these and other fine sponsors, our 71st Annual PRCA Rodeo was one of the most successful and entertaining rodeos in our history. Our thanks go to all of those who attended as well!

Thanks for making 2008 rodeo a success
Dear Editor,

We the officers, trustees, chairmen of rodeo committees and the hardworking members would like to take this means to thank all the citizens, advertisers and all others who worked so hard to help the Palo Pinto County Livestock Association have a very successful rodeo.

Our special thanks to the three rodeo queen contestants Leslie Montalvo, Alyssa Thorne and Jacye Smith who worked so hard that they set a record in advanced ticket sales. Also a special thanks to the parents of these girls for all of their efforts.

May God bless all who helped.

Arthur James, president
