Info on Jere Gill

Dear Editor,

In Sunday’s paper (Nov. 10) you carried article and picture under “Who knows this person?” Through the years, this isn’t the first time the Index has received this picture from someone who had traveled in Germany.

Jerome (Jere) Gill was a member of the military in World War II. He grew up in Mineral Wells, though he did not live here after the war. Mr. Gill is deceased.

If Mr. Bishop desires further information, he may contact Mr. Gill’s son at following address:

Logan Gill, 4727 Cavern Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.

Sincerely,

Nancy Wallace

Dr. Singh retires

Dear Editor,

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, well over a hundred well-wishers joined together at Palo Pinto General Hospital to congratulate Dr. Lakheram Singh on his retirement from active practice, after more than 36 years of dedicated service to the people of this county and North Texas.

In those three plus decades, Dr. Singh and his lovely wife, Pawan, were active members of the Mineral Wells community, raising three children who now have families of their own. No one knew the impact that the young doctor arriving at PPGH in 1977 would have on the area. Today we can look back and judge how fortunate we were that he brought his family to join our family those many years ago.
