LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Successful B.E.A.R. Book Project

Dear Editor,

The Palo Pinto Retired Teachers and School Employees Association just completed our annual Book Encourage Awesome Readers (B.E.A.R.) Book Project.

Every year we give a new book to first-, third- and fifth-grade students in all the public schools in Palo Pinto County. This year, we gifted more than 1,000 books. We would not be able to reach our goal without the generous support of our friends in the county.

Thank you to County Commissioner Curtis Henderson and his wife, Beth, for their generous donation to the book project. Also, our appreciation goes to the Kiwanis, Lamar PTO, Mineral Wells Noon Lions Club, Mineral Wells Study Club and members of our own organization who contribute.

Helen Sherrill, chairman of the B.E.A.R. Book Project
