‘Hat’s off’ to emergency service in Mineral Wells
I would like to express my thoughts on a emergency situation I was in back on September 13 last year.
I had worked a normal shift the night before and had went to bed at around 9 a.m. that morning never thinking of the possibility of not waking up on a normal basis. I suffered a stroke while I was asleep. At the time I had not a clue what was going on. But through the professional efforts of many people I am alive today and have 95% recovered from it. I am 55 years old and have lived in Mineral Wells all my life. Through the years I have heard many complaints about our city. Police, hospital, schools and so on. I would like to take this time to brag a little on some of them. Starting with the 911 dispatcher my wife talked to who got the ball rolling, the ambulance crew who responded extremely fast and prepared me for transport and got me to the hospital, and the emergency room staff and physician that administered the new clot busting medication to me before shipping me to Fort Worth. If I would of had to wait until I got to Fort Worth to receive that medication I don’t believe my recovery would have been the same.
My hat’s off to all of you. I don’t think anyone else could of done a better job!!
