Sadness and smiles in Perrin

Claude Renfro, 83, of Weatherford passed away Thursday, April 11. The service was last Monday at Bluebonnet Hills. Claude retired from American Airlines in 1994. His wife of 53 years, Valrea Renfro; his daughter, Sharon Renee Renfro; parents, Amos Byrd Renfro and Frances O. Renfro; his brothers, LB Renfro, Todd Renfro And Fritz Renfro; and his sisters, Audean Murray and Corrine Pate, preceded him in death. Survivors: his sons and their wives, Steven and Tina Renfro, Doug and Karen Renfro and brother, LH “Sonny” Renfro, survive him.

Janie Marcelle Stanley, 84, passed away April 7, in a Fort Worth hospital. She was born December 10, 1928, in Perrin. Services were April 12, in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with burial in Perrin Memorial Gardens Cemetery. She graduated from Perrin High School.

Beyrl “Bee” Sorcic, 87, passed away Thursday, April 11. The memorial service was last Monday at Perrin United Methodist Church. Bee was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Big Spring. She married Andrew Sorcic. They had two children. She lived in Azle, Perrin, Jacksboro and Mineral Wells. Her husband Andy preceded her in death. Survivors: Son, Andy Sorcic and wife, Michelle of Perrin and daughter Marion Thurman and husband, Roland.

Early registration for Pre-kindergarten will be held on May 7, 1-4 p.m., in the Perrin Elementary library. This is for students who will be in prekindergarten or kindergarten during the 2013-14 school year. Students currently enrolled in prekindergarten are not required to attend.

On Thursday, May 16 at 3:45 p.m., there will be a parent involvement policy review in the elementary gym, following this will be a parent-teacher organization meeting at 4 p.m. New officers will be nominated and voted on. If you want to have input please plan to attend.

The National Honor Society has a new order of gourmet popcorn. It will be in the library for sale at $2 a bag. The profit goes to the Sam Samniego Scholarship fund. Flavors are vanilla, carmel, salsa-‘n-cheddar, dark chocolate, white cheddar, yellow cheese and butter.
