Local church gets new concrete handicap ramps

By Kay Mealio | kaymealio@embarqmail.com

PERRIN – We received close to two inches of rain last weekend. It was a nice, slow, go take a nap type rain. We are also enjoying the cooler weather.

New concrete handicap ramps were installed at the Church of Christ’s fellowship room by Mark Hollingsworth. This will help those who come to vote in November as well as church members.

The Perrin Volunteer Fire Department is having a turkey shoot on Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 8 a.m. There will be a youth .22 class, a youth BB gun class and a pistol class. Donuts and coffee will be available that morning. There is a raffle costing $5 a ticket or five tickets for $20. First prize is a Remington 11-87 12-gauge Sportsman shotgun; second prize is a Brute 90-quart cooler; and third prize is a $50 gift card to Bass Pro Gift Shop. There will also be a bake sale and Perrin firefighter supporter T-shirts and caps for sale. Lunch will be available for $5 for a BBQ sandwich, chips and a drink. For more information, contact Jason Bryan at (940) 452-6334.
