Most volunteer stations are needing young people to become involved in serving their community, and Perrin is no exception. As a volunteer firefighter you can serve your community, protect property and save lives. Fires don't wait. This would be an opportunity for people of all ages to help improve the community around them.
Our town owes a lot to these volunteers who regularly spend most of their free time giving to the community. Aside from fire control, volunteer firefighters also have other duties, including emergency medical response, fire safety education, fundraising, disaster relief and equipment maintenance.
Small volunteer stations such as Perrin, may depend on hand-me-downs from larger stations in order to restock their supplies.
Because of this, volunteer firefighters may not have full equipment available while on duty and that is one of the reasons to hold fundraising events. The Perrin VFD is still planning on hosting the turkey shoot in November.
The Perrin Advent Christian church will be having their VBS Aug. 4-9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.. The theme of the VBS is visiting Athens with Paul on his missionary journey. All ages are welcome.
Thought for the week: The cheapest way to have your family tree traced is to run for public office.
