Large crowd sees 2012 seniors receive diplomas

By KAY MEALIO | kaymealio@embarqmail.com

PERRIN – We thoroughly enjoyed the Perrin High school graduation ceremonies last Friday, June 1.

There was a good crowd there to watch the class of 2012 accept their diplomas. There were lots of scholarships and awards given to the class. Kayan Dunnigan was valedictorian and Destiny Stephens was salutatorian of the 2012 class.

We had two of our grandchildren who graduated and we were so proud of them, both honors students and both received several academic awards.

The Perrin Volunteer Fire Department's barbecue fundraiser is Saturday, June 16. The meal will be at the Perrin Elementary gymnasium beginning at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and children under 12 $7. There will be a complete barbecue meal, live music and silent and live auctions. Tickets are available for a raffle on a Remington .243 rifle with scope. Tickets are $5 or five for $20. Donations of dessert items or auction items are needed and will be greatly appreciated. They added for kids to bring their dad's out to celebrate Father's Day weekend.

The Perrin Advent Christian Church VBS is Sunday, June 17, to Thursday, June 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m. They will be learning about Ancient Babylon and will meet Daniel and his friends, hearing about Daniel's courage during his captivity.
