Out and about in Perrin

(Continued)

The Perrin FBLA is selling Beanie Babies in which all profits goes to the March of Dimes. The Beanies are set up in the school library and most cost about $5.

Don’t forget to start planning for the big 100th anniversary of the Perrin School which is set for Sept. 26-28. There will be booths with games, parade, a bonfire, Homecoming football, followed by student dance and culminating with class reunions. For more information contact Wayne Stephens, president of the Homecoming Committee or Jo Brumfield secretary.

There will be a Memorial Day celebration at Mitchell Park May 24-27 with their 6th annual Crazy Hat Parade and also Elvis performance.

Perrin-Whitt Elementary will have one team competing in Battle of the Books this year. The team is made up of 5th- and 6th-graders who love to read. Each student will be expected to read 15 books and be ready to answer questions about the books in the May 21 competition.

The BOB competition will be held in Mineral Wells at the high school gym beginning at 9 a.m. The team members are Rocky Moore, Noah Kuhn, Hanky Moore, Kendal Armstrong, and Kelli Tucker.

Thought for the week: The quickest way for a mother to get her children’s attention is to sit down and look comfortable.
