— There was a Howard and Mary (Nash) Johnson family reunion held at the Sparks Spring Fellowship hall. Everyone had a very enjoyable time visiting and eating. Marna and Mickey Hughes from Beadis, Texas, came the furtherest. There were cousins from the Lubbock, Madisonville, Weatherford, Jacksboro and the Perrin area who attended.
Students will be happy to learn that Friday, May 10, is designated as a bad weather day and they have the day off. I think the teachers will appreciate it too.
Early registration for pre-kindergarten will be held on Tuesday, May 7, from 1-4 p.m. in the library for students who will be in pre-kindergarten or kindergarten during the 2013-2014 school year. Students currently enrolled in pre-kindergarten are not required to attend.
On May 16, the K-2nd grades will go to the Ft. Worth Zoo for their field trip.
The next Perrin PTO meeting will be Thursday, May 16, at 4 p.m. in the elementary gym. New officers will be nominated and voted on. If you want to have input, please plan to attend.
The date and time for the regular PWCISD Board of Trustees meetings has changed. Regular meetings will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The 9th Annual Perrin Coaches Golf Tournament will be at the Bridgeport Country Club on Saturday, May 18. Your tax-deductible sponsorship is needed to make this tournament a success for our Perrin student athletes. The format of the tournament is a 4-man scramble. There will prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one prizes. Lunch will be served between 12:30 and 1:30. At this time door prizes will be awarded to all participants. For an inexpensive gift, the Perrin FBLA is selling Beanie Babies in which all profits goes to the March of Dimes. The Beanies are set up in the school library and most cost about $5. May be a good gift for Mother’s Day coming up on Sunday, May 12!
Don’t forget to start planning for the big 100th anniversary of the Perrin School which is set for Sept. 26-28. There will be booths with games, parade, a bonfire, homecoming football, followed by student dance and culminating with class reunions.
