Last weekend in Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County was a great weekend for celebrating our past, our present and our future. It’s just too bad it all had to happen on the same weekend, and because of that Raf and I were able to attend only two of the events.

Out on Dodson Prairie, west of Palo Pinto, St. Boniface Catholic Church celebrated its 100th year with a Mass followed by barbecue, a silent auction and a raffle. The church out there on the prairie is a reminder of Christianity moving across our county right after the turn of the previous century. From the photos we saw, the Knights of Columbus were resplendent in their uniforms, and it appeared that there was quite a crowd. I wish we had been able to attend.
