Do you love all things English? I do and always have. When Daddy came home from World War II he really didn’t like those Limeys, but that didn’t deter me for even one minute.
And now, in 2012, Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee, the 60th year of her reign. We watched BBC’s four-part series called “Queen and Country.” It’s just amazing that she has been with us all these years, and even though we are not her subjects, she has been a part of our lives since we were born, especially once her father became king. Her Jubilee Week, particularly the flotilla on the Thames, was stunning, the whole thing slightly marred by Prince Philip’s illness, though he seems to have recovered quickly.
And on Friday the XXX Summer Olympics began in London. I hope we win lots of gold, and I hope England comes in second!
