We honor our veterans, and we actively endeavor to be a part of our community and county activities.
Anyone who is interested is welcome to visit our chapter. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and you can find us on Facebook by seraching for “Ralph Ripley Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.”
I am the registrar, which means I see to your application forms and assist you in proving your lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot. Your patriot may be either male or female and does not have to have been a soldier.
I look forward each month to meeting with my DAR friends, to hearing something new about our American patriots, to studying about native America, to honoring people in our community who have given service in many different fields.
Next month we are traveling to Hamilton, Texas, to visit a member whose town does not have a chapter. We will hear a program on the local history of the area and we will meet new friends from other chapters who are joining us.
This month several of us went to Fort Worth for a meal a Joe T. Garcia’s where heard Suzie Humphries speak. The color guard for this event was from the Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base. There is always something going on in the area for us to attend, if we wish, and through these activities we connect with women around the state.
Most of all DAR is a chance for me to show my patriotic side, while at the same time enjoying, with my daughter and my friends, learning about the history of our town, our county, our state and our nation. Come a join us!
