Jane Hughes to pastor local Nazarene church
Rev. Jane Hughes will assume the duties as pastor of Mineral Wells Church of the Nazarene, 1007 S.E. 6th Ave. in November.
She is a native Texan and currently lives in Whitney, Texas, where she serves as full time associate pastor at Whitney Church of the Nazarene.
She has completed 22 of 24 required college courses of ministries preparation from both the Nazarene Bible College and the local modular program. Post-graduate studies at Brite Divity School at Texas Christian University, post-graduate courses in business management at Amberton University, Garland, Texas. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
Hughes is a licensed minister in the West Texas Church of the Nazarene district.
She said she is especialy interested in the ministerial alliance and others that pertain to the town and church. She has been involved in jail ministry and has had a monthly serve in nursing homes.
She and her husband, L.J., have three children, all grown and away from home.
Jane Hughes is employed by Brookshires Grocery in Whitney. L.J. Hughes is not a minister, but fully supports his wife in her calling as a minister.
The Hughes’first Sunday in their new church is this Sunday, Nov. 2. The public is invited to come and give them a gracious welcome to Mineral Wells.
Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. followed by morning worship 10:45 a.m. Evening worship is at 6 p.m., and Wednesday night service is at 7 p.m.
We are expecting great things as Rev. Hughes leads us.
