Holy Week Schedule

By TYLER MASK

With Palm Sunday already over and Easter coming this Sunday, Mineral Wells Ministerial Alliance is taking advantage of Holy Week, the week between the two holidays, and spreading the good news as much as possible.

Kicking off the week strong, First Christian Church, pastored by Rev. Pamela Holt, welcomed the community with a small service and lunch.

Although Holt participated in the service, she shared the pulpit with Soda Springs Baptist Church Pastor Ronnie Davidson, who gave the main message. The remainder of the week will carry out in a similar fashion, with guest pastors preaching at each location, many of which are a part of the Ministerial Alliance.

“We do the Holy Week services and Thanksgiving services [together],” First Baptist Church Pastor and Mineral Wells Ministerial Alliance President Nathan Buchanan said. “Then [we] assist in other ways, like helping repair the cross on the east of town. Anything like those kind of things we do.”

The remaining schedule for the week is as follows:

• Tuesday, First Baptist Church, 100 SW 4th Ave., with First Presbyterian Church Interim Pastor Ed Nunnelley.

• Wednesday, Our Lady of Lourdes, 100 NW 4th Ave., with Mount Hermon Baptist Church Pastor Karium Carter.

• Thursday, First United Methodist Church, 301 NE 1st St., with Calvary Baptist Church Pastor Mark Alcorn.

• Friday, First Presbyterian Church, 300 NW 4th Ave., with Well of Life Church Pastor Kirk Horton.

All services take place at noon.

There will be an Easter Sunrise Service at Clark Gardens. Gate opens at 6:30 a.m., and the service will be held from 7 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. The event is free to the public, and donuts and coffee will be provided, rain or shine.
