The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites you to celebrate the joy of the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. An exhibit of over 200 nativity sets from all over the world creatively displayed at the church building, 1202 S.E. 6th Ave., will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, the 4th, from noon to 4 p.m.
The many nativity sets that will be on display reflect the unique interpretation of the individual artist’s culture and background as well as the material available to them while they were creating it. St. Francis of Assisi, in 1223, is credited with popularizing the tradition of fashioning nativity sets as a way of spreading the message that the long awaited Messiah had been born.
Bring your family and start the Christmas season focusing on the birth of Jesus Christ.
